Denbigh’s Got Plenty of Talent

A recent event showed that Denbigh has got talent.

The Denbigh’s Got Talent competition, one of the events of this year’s Denbigh Midsummer Festival sponsored and organised by Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd, was held at the end of June in Denbigh Town Hall.

Over 300 people watched 12 talented finalists, and the show was hailed as one of the best evenings the Town Hall has seen in many years.

The show was presented by Lisa Gwilym, presenter of S4C’s “Y Sioe Gelf” and DJ on C2. The panel of judges included the actors Llyr Evans, Iwan Charles and Gaynor Morgan Rees and reality TV star Glyn Wise.

It was a difficult decision for the judges but the results saw 3 rd prize go to Denbigh band 440 Hertz, 2 nd place went to Momentwm Dance group from Ysgol Twm o’r Nant and the winner was 12 year old Angharad Heaven who sang “Good Morning Baltimore” from the hit musical Hairspray.

Tai Clwyd is proud to be associated with such a successful evening and we hope that it will now become an annual event.
