New Mascot Unveiled

Tai Clwyd’s brand new life-size mascot was launched at the National Eisteddfod at Bala in August. Named Tôni, a play on words translating to ‘a roof for us’, the mascot was introduced to eisteddfod goers by its creator, 12 year old Sophie Petford from Dolgellau. Sophie was the winner of our ‘Cadwyn’ competitions to design and name a new mascot.

Alwyn Llwyd, Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd Chief Executive said: Part of our work at Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd includes liaising with youngsters, after all they are our future generation. Tôni will be used at many different community events to communicate with youngsters and offer advice and assistance in relation to key housing issues including home safety messages. He will be used as a tool to highlight the importance of community work. We congratulate Sophie on her achievement and are extremely proud with the end product especially as we are the first Housing Association in Wales to unveil a mascot.”

Sophie received £50 and an art and craft set for naming and designing Tôni. Look out for Tôni in the next few months, as he will be out and about with the Community Development Team. He has already been busy on our Roadshow and Tenants Day!
