The annual Tenants Day was held this year at St Asaph Leisure Centre on Tuesday August 11 th and proved to be the most successful day yet! More tenants attended than ever before, 177 in total, with some travelling as far afield as Aberdyfi and Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant.
A host of our partners were present to offer advice and support on the various stalls and guest speakers conducted workshops on Financial Inclusion, Environmental Tips and Anti-Social Behaviour. In the main hall there was also a Health Corner which included fitness test for the youngsters, blood pressure tests and an opportunity to taste some fresh smoothies, a Craft Corner and a Beauty Corner where tenants enjoyed some pampering. Throughout the morning the youngsters took part in a t-shirt printing competition, face painting, badge making, trampolines and a bouncy dome whilst the young people tried their hand at hip hop with Ed Holden, from the Welsh Band ‘Y Genod Droog’ at a specially created practical workshop.
After lunch everyone adjourned to the theatre for the long awaited ‘Tai Clwyd’s Got Talent Competition which was hosted by the Welsh actor ( Twin Town ) Llyr Evans. The standard was very high but eventually the judges decided that Luke McCall from Bala was the worthy winner singing Anthem from Chess and taking home a cheque for £150. Yasmin Kovacs from Denbigh came 2 nd and Sarah Jones Wallace from Ruthin 3 rd.
We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of you that attended because without your continued interest in our activities, the day would not have been such an astounding success.
