Extra Care Scheme

Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd is currently preparing to build two new extra care schemes, one in Ruthin and the other in Bala.
The scheme in Bala will be the first in the county, comprising of 30 units (23 two bedroom units and 7 one bedroom units) on a site next to Bala College and Cysgod y Coleg estate.
The scheme in Ruthin is for 21 units (17 two bedroom units and 4 one bedroom units) on a site next to the Awelon residential care home.
What is extra care housing?
Extra care housing is a housing provision that caters for people who want to live in their own home, but with the benefit of an on site, dedicated care team. For many, they provide an alternative to residential care. In an extra care scheme, you will retain your independence, whilst benefiting from a flexible level of care, which can be tailored to suit your changing needs, prolonging your independence and providing you with a home for life.

Who will be considered?
There are different allocation policies for both schemes, but generally the tenants will be over 60 years of age with varying levels of support needs.
