The Mortgage Rescue Scheme

The Mortgage Rescue Scheme may be able to help you if you are an owner occupier in mortgage difficulties and you are in danger of having your home repossessed.

The Welsh Assembly Government is providing funding for their mortgage rescue scheme to stop homeowners who face repossession from being made homeless.

The additional money is being set aside because of the growing number of homeowners who are facing difficulties due to the "credit crunch".

Under the scheme, Housing Associations can use grants to either:

  • buy a share of the mortgage; or
  • buy properties outright and rent them back to the former owner.

The funding is for the most urgent cases which would otherwise end in homelessness.

If you are experiencing difficulties in paying your mortgage, or are in danger of losing your home, please contact the Association on 0345 230 3140 to discuss further.
