Conwy Council is stepping up its campaign to help first-time buyers and people in housing need get on the property ladder. 

Over 30 households have already moved into their own home as a result of putting their names on the First Steps Register and now with a new affordable housing development soon to be available in the Llandudno Junction area, even more people will be celebrating.

The First Steps register is for people who can get a mortgage but are struggling to get a foot on the property ladder. And anyone who is able to get a mortgage, has a connection with Conwy but is struggling to buy a home on the open market should put their names down.

Conwy Council runs the First Steps Register in partnership with Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, North Wales Housing Association and Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd who also administer the list.

A First Steps Open Evening has been arranged for Thursday 4^th September 2008 at Llandudno Junction Community Centre, from 5pm - 8pm.  Representatives from Conwy's Strategic Housing Unit, Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd, Macbryde Homes and Anwyl Homes will be available to answer any questions and to offer information about the developments available, how to access the schemes and to help complete the application forms.
